Jim "Jimi' Alexander, was born Oakland, CA., in 1945.

 

Studied at Washington University School of Architecture and then graduated from California College of Arts and Crafts(CCAC) with a BFA degree in Sculpture and Painting. Placing a pursuit of painting & sculpture on hold, he spent the next 40+ years for endeavors ranging from organic farming and astronomy to commercial and residential building & real estate development in the California Bay Area..

 

Moving to Bisbee, Arizona 9 years ago, Jim has most recently returned to the pursuit of Painting. Developing a Contemporary Expressionism in genres ranging from Abstract and Figurative to Hikus, Visionary and Landscape works. As an off-canvas painter, he has worked as a floor Muralist.

 

Recent work in large canvases features compositions of Floras and Fruits. Presently he is showing at Solar Culture, Tucson, Arizona, and upcoming at Kafka Cafe, Bisbee, Az.
